Dr Palatasa Havea, Board member
Dr Palatasa Havea is married to Sesimani and has three teenage children. Tongan-born, Tasa came to New Zealand as an international student. He has a PhD from Massey University and works as a lead scientist / researcher for Fonterra in Palmerston North. The Havea family are actively involved in a church.
Peter Munro, Board member
Peter Munro is married to Jenny and he joined the ISMNZ Board in March 2017. Peter trained initially as a chemical engineer. His career then involved 22 years of teaching and researching at Auckland and Massey universities, and 18 years managing R&D teams at Fonterra and its predecessors. Peter and Jenny have two adult daughters and one grandson. They now live in Wellington and are members of a church.
Jonathan Peacey, Board member
Jonathan Peacey is Senior Director Fisheries with Conservation International, working mostly on Pacific Islands fisheries. He travels regularly to the USA and Pacific Islands. He previously held senior management roles with the NZ Ministry of Fisheries and he and his wife Fernah recently spent three years living in the Solomon Islands. They have three adult children and one grandchild. They were discipled through the Canterbury University Navigators ministry, led the Otago University Navigators ministry for eight years, and are part of a church in Wellington.
