Andrew Lim, Chairman
Andrew Lim first arrived in New Zealand in 1994 as an international student at Victoria University of Wellington. He had an eventful stint as a student and by the time he graduated he was married to LiLian, was running an international students hostel called Kia Maia and had become a New Zealand citizen. Since graduating, Andrew and LiLian returned to Singapore, became parents to Monica and continued their involvement with international students in their work and ministry. They returned to Wellington in time to see New Zealand become Rugby World Champions again in 2011. Andrew and his family now live in Hamilton where he is the senior pastor of a church, Lighthouse Christian Fellowship Hamilton. |
Dr Andrew Butcher, Board member
Dr Andrew Butcher joined the Board of ISMNZ since 2012 and became Chairman in Dec 2015. He is the author of several books of Christian devotionals and academic articles on both immigration and international education. He has lived and worked in New Zealand, was on research and study leave in Singapore and was on an international leadership programme in the USA. Andrew also attended by invitation the Lausanne Younger Leaders Gathering in 2006. Andrew joined Bethlehem Tertiary Institute in December 2017 as CEO and Dean. He and his wife Yvette are members of a church in Tauranga. |
Sarah Field, Board member
Sarah Field lives in Wellington where she serves as a Pastor at The Street Church. Having grown up in Wellington, Sarah studied to become a Registered Nurse at what was known as the Wellington Polytechnic. She worked as a nurse in various Wellington hospitals and had three children who are now all grown up. Sarah and her husband Nick have been pastoring The Street Church for about twenty years now and have the joy of welcoming hundreds of students into the church every year. They are passionate about seeing the Church help people from all nations become total followers of Jesus Christ. |
Jonathan Peacey, Board member
Jonathan Peacey is the New Zealand Country Director of The Nature Conservancy. He previously held senior management roles with the New Zealand Ministry of Fisheries and development roles in the Solomon Islands and Kiribati. Jonathan and his wife, Fernah, have three adult children and two grandchildren. They were discipled through the Canterbury University Navigators ministry, led the Otago University Navigators ministry for eight years, and are part of The Street Church in Wellington. |
Brent, Board member
Brent is a Chartered Accountant, currently involved in various businesses in New Zealand. He and his wife Lily have lived in Indonesia at various times for a total of two years, studied for two years at Bible College in Palmerston North and Auckland, and founded a Chinese Congregation in their church. They volunteer frequently in short-term mission trips, enjoy debating Christian Apologetics, and have been active in student ministry since their teenage years. They love International Students! They are volunteer Chaplains at IPU (a Japanese-owned university in Palmerston North), and have two daughters who are working in Thames and Wellington. |
