Jocelyn Wilson Campus Worker
Jocelyn was discipled when she was a student at Victoria University of Wellington. At that time the only internationals were from Singapore and Malaysia. After graduation, she married John, had a family and became church focused in ministry. Later, John and Jocelyn became keen supporters of ISMNZ from its inception in 2000.
When they met the then ISMNZ team leaders, Mark and Sandy Moore in late 2009, Jocelyn felt led to encourage Sandy, eventually assisting her with a ladies' conversation group. When Mark started a Bible Story Telling Group with international students, she was keen to learn too. She finds this approach to introducing students to Jesus very rewarding... and fun!
In 2013, a woman said, 'I’ve never had a friend like you before, this is what I love, you answer my questions by getting me to read from the Bible to teach me what God says. I want to be able to do that and help others.' Jocelyn said, 'For me this is what it’s all about, sharing God’s Word together and encouraging another, one on one. For me, right now, it is the best work in the world.'
