Christchurch Ministry 2021 Highlights

Updated: Jan 10, 2022

Beth and I are grateful for the opportunity to mentor internationals who are eager to minister to their peers. Mentoring leaders for the advance of the Kingdom is the heartbeat of our ministry in Christchurch.

Tola grew up in Cambodia and Linda is from China, but they met in Nelson. After marrying, they moved to Christchurch where Linda manages a motel and Tola is finishing an IT degree.

Tola naturally gravitates to initiating conversations which gives him the opportunity to tell others about his hope in Christ. Linda’s natural inclination toward hospitality facilitates building relationships.

Growing in faith is a hallmark of their lives and it is their aim to assist others to embrace faith in Christ, especially through their weekly involvement in Rodem House.

Pray for the ISM Ministry Team and Our Efforts in 2022 - Opening doors is a significant theme in Scripture and in our ministry. Pray for open doors:

  • To establish a ministry to internationals at ARA Institute.

  • For recognition of our ministry team as part of the University of Canterbury Chaplaincy.

  • To attract new students at Rodem House.

  • Bean of Life (Beth) outreach to internationals and locals in Lincoln.

  • To advance the Gospel throughout Christchurch, the nation and beyond.

  • To proclaim the Gospel to international students, whether individually or in groups.

Colossians 4:3a “At the same time, pray for us, also, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ.” (ESV)
